Rhinos of the World, Unite! It is Revolution time!!

Protest songs were ubiquitous in the 60s.  Whether it was railing against the prohibition of marijuana, screaming about war or exposing the latest exploits of “the man”, music was the medium by which attitudes and new directions were posted.  Often times, the message was subtly hidden.

Record players were the computers of those days.  We learned about everything from sex to politics and the changing world through the spinning LP.  The record covers even provided information through images and eventually the printed lyrics.  The Beatles were the first to print their lyrics on an album cover – “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” in 1967.

Record players are gone now.  Today we all sit at our computers and send out our thoughts, passions and desires to anyone out in the world who will pay attention.  I believe that social media is the record player of the 60s.  Personal blogs are for those with more heated feelings.

There is a Revolution underway.  It is time for change – a change toward freedom.  We don’t have to wait for our messages to be recorded, mixed, produced and then distributed to record stores.  Change the world in seconds!!  Maybe not the whole world all at once, but millions of minds sending out ideas of freedom can have great influence.

Get on your “record player” and help in the fight for freedom!  Be a part of this amazing chapter of history!  If we don’t, the forces of evil will enslave us.  Keep charging!!!  Scott Alexander

Like those great lines in Braveheart…”All men die, but few men truly live! “FREEDOM!’ It’s the only current battle worth fighting. BTW… I still own a record player ;-)
