Avoid Cows. Charge with the Rhinos!
In order to make your trek through the jungles of life more satisfying, there are a few basic rules to follow. Number one is that you have to cast off everything that is not absolutely necessary. That sounds simple, but you would not believe all the excess baggage most people carry around their whole lives. I stress that most people carry these extra burdens. You are different! You are a unique animal called a rhinoceros! Successful living is enough of a challenge without weighing yourself down with cow baggage. Get rid of everything that is going to slow you down; like a negative attitude, worrying, hatred, unproductive habits, and most of all …. unproductive friends. That may sound mean, but you can’t afford to be associating with cows.
Don’t worry about what your friends are going to think. If no one is talking behind your back, you are doing nothing with your life! If there are no cows secretly hoping that you will fail, then you have already failed! You never take the first step towards real success until you take your first step away from the herd. Do not worry about hurting a cow’s feelings. They may seem to be on your side, they may seem to be sincere, they may even be relatives, but they are bad news.
You cannot afford to have a cow for a friend. All it takes is one drop of ink to discolor gallons of pure, clear water. Just a pinch of strychnine is all it takes to kill you. One cow friend could be the one bullet that is capable of stopping you dead in your tracks. Don’t risk it!
As you associate, so you become. Hang with the charging rhinos.
A third tip is that when the chips are down, fortitude counts for more than anything. You can be a success if you have nothing more than the guts to try. Sure, money would help. The right contacts would be nice, or being in the right place at the right time might improve your chances. But the overriding question will always be – do you have the courage? The deciding factor will always be whether you have the rhino spirit or not. If you have the endurance, the boldness and a goal, then nothing can stop you! Get radical.
