Not of this World.

I watched a Christian music video a couple days ago that really affected me.  A friend had posted it on her Facebook page.  It was a praise song by Kari Jobe and her band.  I watched it three times completely mesmerized.  Kari struck me as angelic.  The music lodged deeper into my soul each time I listened.  It is a beautiful song that breathes;  starting out simple, builds, relaxes and then comes to an incredible epic ending.  I even found the drumming inspiring.  Everything was well produced from the arrangement to the performing of the musicians to the lighting and filming.

What wasn’t arranged was the response of the audience.  The passion and love seen in the people listening could not be artificially conjured.  This is real, supernatural love which can only come from knowing God.

I knew that love at one time about 20 years ago.  What happened to me?  Was it my scramble for worldly “success”?  Two divorces to Christian wives left me jaded.  I had heard that Christians are the only army that shoot their wounded.  A long haired, ex drug addict pastor who doubted my salvation and refused to talk to me seemed to confirm that.  With my guard up,  I found more Christians who fueled my disillusionment.  I never went back to church.  I left God.

Watching that video over and over the next 24 hours, I felt like the thirsty man in the desert who found water and drank.  As I watched the audience, I thought of the NOTW bumper sticker that I have seen all over.  Not of this world.  Wow!  I get it now!

Having  just gone through a week listening to  people professing to be wise from the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference to the President of our country and his agenda, I realized the futility and danger of believing in people who believe that they are gods.

There was no pretense about Kari.  I compared that to our arrogant, bloated with self-importance Democrat leaders who are running our country with no guidance from God.  I compared the satisfaction of storing up treasures on earth with the peace that surpasses human understanding.  I thought of the adoration that Obama is given and compared it to Jesus who is King of Kings.

I am now NOTW.  I can see that true hope and change can only come from God.  People will always disappoint.  If our country does have a chance, it will only come from changing people’s hearts.  Democrats think that they can legislate and control people’s lives to better our country.  No.  The answer is to take our focus off ourselves and look to God.  People are boneheads and the more important they think they are,  the bigger the bonehead.

Holy is the Lord God Almighty who was, and is, and is to come.  Have a great Christmas and keep charging!!!   Scott Alexander

Turn it up loud.

    My dearest Scott,

People do not disappoint, it is our faith in them that disappoints us. We must see them as God see’s them- His children. We are all on a different path of learning, some have to learn the hard way and cause others pain, then there are the others that receive the pain. I can assure you, everyone will be at one end of the spectrum or both during their lives. If you really want to see change… get on your hands and knee’s and pray for everyone that you have ever hurt and that has ever hurt you. Forgive them, truly forgive yourself and then with outstretched arms send to them the same love that God has for you. An unselfish love, a true love that with or without you in their lives they will know that you only want the very best for them. Our friends and family are only are mirrors of ourselves, it is time we reflect back love to ourselves and our Maker. God’s blessings! Heidi
